Audit: A guide to how and why

Systematic examination or review of something to determine its accuracy, completeness, validity or compliance with a set of standards or criteria. Results are usually communicated through an audit report which highlights findings and recommendations for improvement. There are different types of audits -this will focus on a clinical example conducted in healthcareto evaluate and improve the quality of patient care.
