"The Wall of Awesome": Oasis unit teaching and learning space improvement project.

Abstract

Monash Children’s Hospital School is commited to contunual improvement of promoting student voice and agency. The teachers on the Oasis Inpatient Unit took the opportunity to consult with young peopleabout what aesthetic improvements they’d like to see on the unit’s teaching and learning space. Often the patients on Oasis find school and learning very challenging and have had little prior opportunity to contribute their ideas in meaningful ways. Across Term 1, children on the unit have contributed their ideas in a variety of ways to help develop and improve the learning space.
